General Observer IAS Mr. Mohammad Zubair Ali Hashmi, General Observer IAS Mr. K. Mahesh, General Observer IAS Mr. Ajay Gupta, IPS Mr. Varun  Kapoor Police Observer and IRS Mr. Janardhan Sanathan Expenditure Observer held a high level meeting in the committee room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office to review the arrangements and preparedness for the Assembly elections-2022. The General Observers minutely reviewed the various arrangements being made at the polling stations in light of the directions of the Election Commission of India.  They directed the Returning Officers present in the meeting to ensure that the adequate arrangements for Divyangajans and senior citizens above the age of 80 years are in place so as to enable them to cast their vote without any difficulty. They also reviewed the status of all sensitive polling stations, the statistics of COVID vaccination and officers and staff on duty for elections.

 During the meeting General Observers took stock of the arrangements made for the security of EVM machines . They categorically asked the ROs to ensure that the facility of GPS system in the vehicles in which EVM machines are to be transported.The Returning Officers also directed the ROs to ensure that all political parties and candidate obtain prior approval of advertisements / banners / pamphlets etc. from the Media Certification and Media Monitoring Committee. Returning Officers were also instructed to dispose of the complaints received through C-Vigil app on priority basis. IPS Varun Kapoor Police Observer while reviewing the arrangements made by the district police administration to maintain peace and order at all levels during the elections said that every vehicle was thoroughly checked by the police personnel deployed at nakas put up throughout the district and at inter-state checkpoints. He directed the district police administration to compile a list of accused under the Arms Act and NDCP Act booked during the last six months and keep a close watch on their current activities. Prominent amongst those present in the meeting included District Electoral Officer Mrs. Isha Kalia, SSP Harjit Singh, Additional District Electoral Officer Mrs. Komal Mittal, Returning Officers and other senior police officers.
