Sets timeline for completion of under execution projects

District Development Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today reviewed the functioning of Rural Development Department (RDD), here at a meeting.During the meeting, a range of issues were discussed which included completion of PMAY (Gramin) houses,  payment of MGNREGA wages, status of MGNREGA works, progress regarding construction of bunkers and  other issues related to development works.Regarding timely payment of wages, the DDC directed the BDOs to accelerate the process and pay the wages within the stipulated time frame as per the timely payment module. He directed the BDOs to achieve the cent percent targets in one week.Weekly target for completion of PMAY (Gramin) houses was also set to achieve the target for providing housing to all homeless villagers by March 2022.The DDC impressed upon BDOs and executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work in their respective areas by adopting innovative methods.

It was informed that against the target of 27.19 lakh mandays under the labour budget, 19.57 lakh were created which accounts for 72 percent of the target.The Deputy Commissioner directed the BDOs of Surankote, Mendhar, Sathra, Poonch, Balakote and Loran to achieve the target of the labour budget within two weeks. He was also instructed to achieve the 100%target of MGNREGA within the same period.The DDC directed the department to complete all started MGNREGA works and process the billing of completed works within fifteen days without any fail.Speedy geotagging of assets was also stressed upon and officials warned against failure in this regard.It was informed that against 21196 approved PMAYG houses, 10100 have been completed till date, registering  48.33% of the set target.About the delay in payments, the DC directed the BDOs to monitor & ensure timely payment through concerned sarpanches as incorporated under the Act. In this regard, the ACD was directed to issue notice to defaulting PRIs and resolve the issues of labour payment at an earliest.Direction was issued to all BDOs to submit the remaining bills to Xen REW within week time.The chairs also viewed low progress of MIS under MGNREGA Scheme and PMAY schemes.Meanwhile, the ADDC instructed the BDOs for close monitoring of schemes.The meeting was attended by ADDC,ACD, ACP,BDOs, XEN REW,AEEs, AEs besides other concerned officials.
