Transparency to be ensured during implementation of MGNREGA and IAY: Ghulam Ahmad Mir

Cent percent transparency will be ensured during the ground level implementation of all the government schemes especially centrally sponsored MGNREGA and IAY so that the benefits of the Government run welfare and developmental programmes can reach to the general masses.This was stated by Minister for Tourism Mr. Ghulam Ahmad Mir at a daylong Panchayat Conference-cum-interactive session held at Town Hall Dooru today. Among others, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, BDOs, besides members and officers of Panchayati Raj Institute (PRI) attended the conference.During the interactive session all the sarpanchs of Dooru constituency highlighted their achievements, short comings and problems faced during the implementation of different schemes on the ground level. The concerned officers interacted and explained the highlighted problems regarding the budgetary allocation, releases, labor component, material component and others matters. The PRI members were also made aware about the planning, identification and execution of different works viz-a-viz their role.

During the conference it was given out that in Dooru constituency works worth Rs. 9.50 crore have been earmarked under different schemes during last years, of which Rs. 6 crore have already been utilized while as Rs. 1 crore  would be disbursed soon.The Minister while speaking in the conference stressed upon the PRI members to truly represent the aspirations of the common people and also ensure the implementation of MGNREGA and IAY with cent percent transparency. He further said that no corrupt official would be tolerated in the Government as the transparency is top on agenda of the present Government. Mir appealed all the stakeholders to work in coordination manner  for making the current tourist season a successful one. He said that every type of facility is available for the tourists but without the public support cent percent success is not possible. He said that the tourists should be welcomed with open heart so that they can motivate others to visit the State. The Minister further said that improvement in weather has paved way for speeding up the pace of developmental works in the state especially macadamization, construction, repair and renovation of roads.
