Parkash Singh Badal To Submit A Detailed Plan For Development Of Punjab To PM

Officers Asked To Prepare The Plan For Getting Maximum Benefit From Central Schemes

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that he would soon call on the Prime Minister and the Union Ministers in New Delhi to submit a comprehensive plan for giving a major fillip to the overall development of the state.Interacting with the media person on the sidelines of the second day of Sangat Darshan program in Talwandi Sabo assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister categorically said that the state government’s plan to develop Punjab were deliberately sabotaged by the previous Union government but now with the formation of the NDA government at the centre the development of the state would get a major boost. Mr. Badal said that he had already asked the officers of the state government to prepare a detailed plan regarding the development of the state and the problems faced by it so that maximum benefit could be taken from the grants under the various central schemes. The Chief Minister further said that he would soon meet the Prime Minister and the various Union Ministers in New Delhi to apprise them about the special needs of the state, which has suffered adversely due to the step motherly treatment of the Congress led UPA government.

The Chief Minister further said that the country in general and Punjab in particular has a lot of hopes from the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, who has been recently elected with a massive mandate. He said that though a lot of works needs to be done but by going by the splendid track record of Mr. Modi, he was sure that PM would fulfill all the aspirations of the people. “Mr. Modi is a decisive and visionary Prime Minister of India and he will certainly work hard to realize the cherished dreams of every countryman” added Mr. Badal.Brushing aside the criticism made by the Congress leaders that Sangat Darshan was being done in view in by-poll in the segment, the Chief Minister said that it was a fact that the Sangat Darshan program has always remained an integral part of his governance ever since he was elected the Chief Minister of state for the first time. He said that the Congress leaders have always been critical to this pro-people program because they were envious of the welfare of the people. Mr. Badal said that due to their anti-people stance the Congress party has been trounced badly by the people in the recently concluded general elections but they have not learnt anything from their humiliating defeat.

Earlier addressing the gatherings in villages Natheya, Nangla, Singo, and others, the Chief Minister, while profusely thanking the people for their unflinching support to the policies and programs of SAD-BJP alliance, said that he would ever remain indebted to the people for this generosity. Mr. Badal said that due to the mandate of the people he had been the Chief Minister of the state for a record five terms. Reiterating the firm commitment of the alliance government for ensuring the all round development of the state and the prosperity of its people, Mr. Badal said that Punjab would soon become a leading state in the country in every field.Expressing gratitude to the people for electing Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal as Lok Sabha MP from Bathinda for second consecutive term, the Chief Minister said that impressed by her ability and merit Prime Minister Mr. Modi had bestowed an honor to the state by handpicking her for his Cabinet. He said that at the helms of affairs in an important department like Food Processing, which was directly related to agriculture, Mrs. Badal would play a pivotal role in bailing out the beleaguered farmers of the state from the current agrarian crisis. Likewise, Mr. Badal said that Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal’s presence in Union Cabinet would also help in brightening the prospects of state in the policies formulated by the centre.

Meanwhile, the Sangat Darshan proved to be a boon for the villagers of Nangla village as peeved to learn that around 1800 acres of land in the village were barren due to paucity of water, the Chief Minister immediately called up Chief Soil Conservator of the state and asked him to visit the village for formulating a plan of supplying canal water to the village through pipes. Mr. Badal asked the officers to ensure that the plan was ready within a fortnight so that expedite execution could be ensured.The Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Mr. Chatin Singh Samao, former MLA Mr. Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, Akali leaders Mr. Amarjeet Singh Sidhu (IAS Retd.) and Mr. Paramjeet Singh Lally Badal, his Special Principal Secretary Mr. KJS Cheema and Deputy Commissioner Mr. KK Yadav.
