Khanna distributes grants for Gaushala and madrasa

Reiterating his commitment to development and supporting public cause, the Rajya Sabha MP Avinash Rai Khanna on Monday distributed grants for several projects of social importance in the state. Khanna – who was flanked by a senior BJP Leader Balramji Dass Tandon and Assistant Media Advisor Vineet Joshi to the Punjab Government – distributed the grants under MPLAD (Member of Parliament Local Area Development) scheme. The grants were distributed at the Punjab BJP Headquarters in Chandigarh.

Khanna distributed grants of Rs 15 lakh in Fazilka district for projects including constructing rooms, hall for dharamsalas, building of a school and shed of a Gaushala. He gave Rs 5 lakh for works like constructing Balmiki dharamsala and gaushalas in Sangrur district while Rs 11 lakh were distributed for laying sewer pipes, constructing rooms for orphan children and a senior secondary school respectively, said Vineet Joshi.

Joshi stated that the MP also distributed grants for projects including the construction of room for Sheikh Ahmed Sarhandi Madrasa and erecting the boundary wall of a graveyard in Ludhiana. Rs 10 lakh were granted for constructing pavement at district courts in Fatehgarh Sahib while Rs 11 lakh were given for the construction of the library hall. Khanna meanwhile said that he had been attempting to promote public cause irrespective of their political, religious or social affiliations. “As a committed BJP soldier, I am committed to all round development of the state and the country,” he added.
