CGC Jhanjeri Staged Asia’s Biggest Electric Solar Vehicle Championship 8.0 Ingenious Electric Vehicles Stunned Onlookers

First ,second and third winners were honoured with Rs. 50000, Rs. 30000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively

Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri staged the mega, Asia’s Biggest Electric Solar Vehicle Championship 8.0  which saw the convergence of students from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa, and other states. The entire campus resembled a formula one circuit. It was gruelling four days for participants of 21 teams as they put their heart, mind, and soul into coming out with unique creations in the form of solar-powered e-kart and e-bike.Judges from 14 distinguished organizations were invited to check the performance of each vehicle on various parameters and put the teams on different tests. Different technical tests checked the vehicles on their steering ability, their manoeuvrability on uneven terrain, e-bikes and e-kart were checked on high rise humps and on zig-zag patterns for their control and stability, the top speed that can be attained by vehicles, and how strong and effective were their braking mechanism. 

Teams had to pass their vehicle through multiple rounds of testing to come out as a winner. Navjot Singh Randhawa CEO PEDA, Dr. Vikas Chawla Dean Academics PTU, and Cabinet Minister Raj Kumar Verka, Social Justice , Empowerment and Minorities, New and Renewable Energy Sources, Medical Education and Research, Govt. of Punjab  awarded  the top performing teams  for their ingenious creations. 1st prize  winner was given Rs. 50,000, whereas  2nd prize winner was given Rs. 30,000 and 3rd prize was given Rs. 20,000  as an award.Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC took a deep closer look at the different creations of  students and  said that Innovation is the core on which a nation is built, we at CGC Jhanjeri have always encouraged and provided a positive background to motivate students to come out with innovative creations.Arsh Dhaliwal  Managing Director CGC Jhanjeri  said at the moment that Professionals with innovative bend of mind are the demand of future.
