Drawing a parallel between the filing of an FIR against SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia and the Ludhiana bomb blast, as well as recent sacrilege incidents, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday, questioned why such a horrific incident occurred only after Majithia was cornered by the law.

He also explained why all the beadbi (sacrilege) and bombing happened just after Majithia was arrested, claiming that there are some anti-Punjab elements out to undermine the state's peace. "We're also looking into this angle in relation to the recent wicked crimes," the Chief Minister remarked, adding that only a single case has forced Majithia into hiding and that if the Akali leader has done nothing wrong, he should come forth and face the law.

CM Channi accused Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia of destroying the wonderful legacy of the Shiromani Akali Dal and bringing discredit to the party by engaging in drug trafficking and beadbi operations.

Taking aim at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Chief Minister said that Arvind Kejriwal had apologized to Majithia in the drug case, despite the fact that Kejriwal had previously sought votes by accusing the Akali leader of drug trafficking during the last elections.

Now Bhagwant Mann and other AAP leaders should apologize to the people of the state for siding with drug smuggler Majithia who has ruined the youth of Punjab by being the kingpin of drug trade, added the Chief Minister while reiterating that no drug trafficker would be allowed to go scot-free and all anti-Punjab Forces would be dealt with an iron hand.

After the rally, the Chief Minister inaugurated a bus stand at Mullanpur Dakha which has been named after the iconic martyr Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha besides announcing Sub Division Status to Mullanpur Dakha, an ITI College for Latala, Rs. 5 crore for the development works and Government Degree College for Sidhwan Bet.

Appealing to the people to support Capt. Sandeep Sandhu in the coming elections, Channi said that Capt. Sandhu has made untiring efforts for the development of Dakha constituency despite losing bye-elections.

The Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu while addressing the gathering said that the pro-people decisions taken and implemented by the Chief Minister in just three months were not taken during last four and half years. He also lauded the contribution of Capt. Sandeep Sandhu for the development of constituency. He also said that some anti-Punjab forces are trying to disrupt the peace of the state which would not be allowed at any cost.

Capt. Sandeep Sandhu speaking on the occasion credited the work done by Chief Minister Channi during his short tenure for people having turned up in large numbers to listen to his development-centric futuristic roadmap. He said that FIR registered against drug traffickers recently should be thoroughly probed and culprits should be given exemplary punishment.

The former MLA Jassi Khangura asked the Congress workers to put up a united face during the elections. He also appealed to the CM to show the door to party defectors who always backstab the party during elections and exhorted the people to stand by Capt. Sandeep for the overall development of Dakha constituency.

The MLA and Chairman Punjab State Warehousing Corporation Kuldeep Singh Vaid, MLA Sanjay Talwar, MLA Jagtar Singh Jagga Hissowal, Chairman Improvement Trust Raman Subramaniam, and District Congress Rural President Kiranjeet Soni Ghalib were also present on the occasion.
