Good Governance Week : Div Com participates in Mega awareness/ grievance redressal camp at Tral

The District Administration Pulwama today organized a series of events in connection with the 'Good Governance Week' campaign organized under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to facilitate prompt and efficient public grievances disposal and improved services delivery to people.Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, P K Pole participated in the mega awareness cum grievance redressal camp at Tral.Among others, DDC Members, ADDC Pulwama, ADC Tral, BDC Chairperson besides other concerned officers and PRIs and public in large numbers attended the event.On the occasion, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Chowdhary, presented a detailed status of the ongoing projects to the chair and highlighted sector wise progress of major projects and key flagship schemes of different sectors including R&B, RDD, PDD, PHE, Health, Social Welfare, Horticulture and Agriculture besides Animal and Sheep Husbandry in the district.The Div Com said that the Good Governance Week campaign has provided officers an opportunity to march rapidly to create a transparent and efficient Public Delivery System and to further improve governance.He said that the sole objective of the campaign is to promote prompt service delivery and grievance redress at people’s doorstep.

The Div Com directed the officers to put in extra efforts to ensure that all the genuine concerns of the public are redressed during the week besides providing maximum government services to them at their doorsteps.He also appealed to the public to ensure their maximum participation in the camps being organised in their areas as a part of the Good Governance Week and avail necessary benefits under various schemes and programs meant for their welfare.The Div Com also handed over Ladli Beti Sanction Letters and tricycle among the beneficiaries during the camp.Meanwhile, as part of weeklong celebrations, a series of activities have been planned by the District Administration with the motto of redressing the pending genuine public concerns and also to improve service delivery down to village level.On the third day of the Good Governance Week, special camps were organised by different Departments across the district to provide necessary benefits to the general public under various schemes and massive public participation was observed in these camps.Revenue documents, character certificates, etc are among the services being provided to the public at their doorsteps.The officers and the field functionaries are also educating the public about various schemes and programs being implemented by their Departments in the district and are motivating them to avail the benefits of the same.The Div Com listened to the public grievances and demands in presence of BDC Chairperson; DDC members, District Officers, PRIs and delegations of Senior Citizen Council Tral, Sports, Aquaf Islamiya Committee, Tral, Gurdawara Praband Committee, Aquaf Committee Tral Payeen, President Gujjar & Bakerwal Committee and senior citizens  of tral and trade union association.

The PRIs and locals put forth their issues and demands and demanded,   Doctor and other paramedical staff at various PHCs,  requirement of Ambulance, widening of Awantipora to Tral road, Receiving station at Aripal, manpower of Drug de-addiction centre, construction of mini secretariat at Tral, Batnoor gujjar basti road, womens college, transportation facility for sports persons, construction of road from Oastuna to Khrew and Tral to Pahalgam road, rehabilitation of 52 shopkeepers, other  several issues related to water, power supply, road connectivity, Transport, etc  raised by the delegations and PRIs.While responding to issues and demands of BDCs, DDCs and PRIs and the public, the Div Com assured that all their demands and grievances will be redressed at the earliest.He said that the democratic decentralisation are often founded upon the notion that the democratisation and empowerment of local political bodies will create institutions that are more accountable to local citizens and more appropriate to local needs and preferences. Moreover, the power to decide local development initiatives is often highly dependent on a state apparatus that respects the autonomy of local political institutionsEarlier, the Div Com along with DDC Pulwama took a round and inspected the stalls set up by various departments for disseminating information about various welfare and other schemes launched by the GOI.
