Good Governance week : Mega awareness cum disability assessment camp held at Nowshera

DC Rajouri presides over public grievances redress camp Thousands thronged the venue to avail benefits

Good Governance Week campaign is witnessing a wide range of activities across district Rajouri to redress public grievances and improve the public services delivery system.A mega awareness cum disability assessment camp was organised   by District Administration in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department and ALMICO, here at Nowshera.The event was presided over by the District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal in presence of ADDC Pawan Parihar;  DFO, Neelima; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; President MC Nowshera, Narinder Kumar, ACD, Sushil Khajuria; DSEO, Bilal Mir; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat, and other district and sectoral officers were present.The public in thousands including PRI members thronged the venue to avail the benefit of the camp.The public was also educated about several schemes and programs being implemented by the government departments in the district through stalls. They were motivated to avail themselves of the benefits of the same. A disability assessment test was carried out for the PwDs.

Addressing the gathering, the District Development Commissioner appreciated the Social Welfare Department and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) for their spirited efforts towards the cause of the PwDs and asked them to work with the same zeal to ease the lives of the persons with special needs.The DC said that the Government is making all out efforts to   create a transparent system and promote good governance practices to make development all-around and all-inclusive.Highlighting the objective of the Good Governance Week, he said that with this innovative initiative, the Govt is trying to redress public grievances and improve service delivery mechanisms to benefit its citizens at the grassroots level.The DDC also inspected the stalls and interacted with the officers and advised them to work with dedication and sincerity and adopt innovative ideas.He also stressed on speedy and quality disposal of the grievances and prompt public service delivery system.
