Director Horticulture visits Rajouri, Poonch Districts to review working of department

Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak, today conducted an extensive tour of Rajouri & Poonch districts to review physical and financial achievements under Capex plan, Centrally Sponsored Schemes besides other developmental activities being carried out in the twin districts.The Director Horticulture chaired a meeting of the officers & officials of district Poonch.At the outset, the Chief Horticulture Officer, S.Satvir Singh briefed the chair about the achievements made under all the schemes being implemented in the district.While taking a review of the ongoing schemes, the Director Horticulture impressed upon the officers and officials to expedite the works undertaken for the development of the nurseries and achieve the targets allotted under different schemes by ending December 2021.

The Director instructed the officers to organise awareness camps, Kissan Goshtis, etc to ensure effective implementation of departmental schemes for the ultimate benefit of the fruit growers.While taking review of the progress in respect of implementation of CAPEX & UT Centrally Sponsored Schemes in district Rajouri, the Chief Horticulture Officer Rajouri,  Madan Lal Tak appraised the chair about the status of various works and details of physical and financial progress made under different departmental Schemes. He assured the chair that all the targets set shall be achieved in time.The director stressed upon all the officers and officials to put their efforts with zeal and dedication to disseminate the developmental schemes of the department to the last possible farmer of the district for better utilization of funds in time. He asked them to aware the farmers to adopt Modified Ultra High Density Plantation Scheme, Micro-irrigation technologies, Protected Cultivation techniques, Organic farming and Mechanization so that they can get maximum returns per unit area.Later, Ram Sevak visited Government Fruit Plant Nursery, Siot and took stock of the ongoing developmental activities.
