Ramban Admin flags in ‘India @75 BRO Motorcycle Expedition’

As part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahoutsav' celebration, Border Road Organization has undertaken a motorcycle Expedition which was flagged off by the Defence Minister of India, Rajnath Singh on October 14 from New Delhi.The rally was today flagged in here by Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam, along with Senior Superintendent of Police, PD Nitya here at BRO Camp Maitra and while coming from Srinagar.Chief Engineer,   Project Beacon, Brigadier IK Jaggi; Commander 35 TF, H Murthy; Officer Commanding Mukul Basist and several other officers and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.While welcoming the Bikers, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts of Chief Engineer,   Project Beacon, Brig  IK Jaggi and his team in the road infrastructure developments in J&K and ensuring connectivity to remote areas. He mentioned the immense contribution of Project Beacon which is the life line of J&K.The DC complimented BRO and expedition team for organizing the Road safety campaign, Swatch Bharath Abhiyan and Fit Bharat campaign. 

He also mentioned the noble initiative by BRO to connect with the ex-servicemen en-route.During the expedition the team will be connecting with people in various parts of the country to spread the message of peace, harmony and national integration.Speaking on the occasion, Lt Col Shekhar,   informed that the seven-legged ‘India @75 Motorcycle Expedition’ will traverse through the length and breadth of the country for the next 75 days. From India Gate, it will advance to the Northern High Altitude areas crossing strategic passes Rohtang, Khardung La and Umling La.The second leg will see the team travel from Srinagar to Siliguri; On third and fourth leg, from Siliguri to Doom Dooma via Gangtok. The expedition will progress through the North-Eastern states before reaching Kolkata. On the fifth and sixth leg, the expedition will travel through the Eastern, Southern and Western coastal areas of the country. On the last leg, after passing through the deserts, the team will reach New Delhi on December 27, 2021.
