Local Bodies Department Launches Drive To Gather Feedback On Property Tax

The Local Bodies Department has decided to collect the first hand information from the citizens residing in the urban area on the issue of Property Tax. To collect the feedback the Secretary of the department would be meeting the delegations of citizens on this issue as per schedule drawn by Local Government Department for two days. He said that in the meetings the Secretary Local Government would listen to the views of respective municipal committees/corporations and representatives of resident welfare associations and other concerned societies.

An official spokesman of the department said that as per the scheduled 6 feedback meeting have been arranged in different cities. On May 27th meeting would be conducted at Municipal Corporation Patiala at 11:30 am for Municipal Corporation Patiala and Patiala region. Similarly a meeting at Circuit House Bathinda at 3:30 pm for MC Bathinda and Bathinda region has been fixed and a similar feedback meeting on the same day for Ferozepur region would be organized at Central Club Faridkot at 6:00pm.He said that on May 28th such meeting would be conducted at Circuit House Amritsar at 11:30 am for MC Amritsar and Amritsar region, similarly a meeting at DC Office Jalandhar at 2:00 pm for MC Jalandhar and Jalandhar region and the last meeting on the same day for MC Ludhiana and Ludhiana region would be organized at Circuit House Ludhiana at 5:00pm.He said that besides Deputy Commissioners, Commissioners of the Corporation, Director Local Government and Regional Deputy Directors of Local Government Department would also participate in the meeting.
