International Shimla Summer Festival concludes

International Shimla Summer Festival concluded here late last evening. Smt Urmila Singh , Governor was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Governor lauded the efforts of the organizers of the Summer Festival and added that the five day long festival was popular among the local people as well as the tourists who visited the hill town in large numbers to witness the event.

Smt Singh witnessed the cultural programme and also felicitated famous singer Daler Mehndi, who was the star attraction of the cultural nite on the occasion.

Daler Mehndi also presented a sapling to the Governor to mark the World Environment Day.Smt Urmila Singh also gave away prizes to winners of painting competition My Shimla – Past Present and Future organised by Tourism department and Municipal Corporation Shimla.Sh Dinesh Malhotra, Deputy Commissioner honoured the Governor with a shawl and memento.Present among others on the occasion were Sh Sanjay Chauhan, Mayor, Sh Tikender Panwar, Deputy Mayor, Prof A D N Bajpayee, Vice Chancellor, HPU, officers of State Government and prominent people of the town.
