Governor Bandaru Dattatreya hoisted the National Flag in Gurugram and took the salute of the parade

The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and with the spirit of patriotism in Gurugram. The Governor of Haryana, Bandaru Dattatreya was the Chief Guest at  this State-Level Independence Day function. He first laid a wreath at the War Memorial located in the Civil Lines area of Gurugram, before reaching the venue. Thereafter he paid  tributes to all the martyrs who have made supreme sacrifices for the country.After hoisting the flag at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 38, Gurugram, the Governor remembered the  heroes of the freedom movement and saluted all the brave martyrs in his Independence Day message. He said that all of us should celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with  immense joy and gaiety this year so that the feeling of patriotism is further ignited in every ones’ minds.Earlier, the Governor hoisted the National Flag and inspected the  contingents participating in the parade. 

After the Independence Day message, he took the salute of the grand parade. The parade was led by Probationer DSP, Sh. Abhilaksh Joshi. In the function, school children also  gave pleasing performances, thus, the Governor announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh for all the participating children.Apart from this, he also declared Monday,  August 16 as a  holiday for the children participating in the  Independence Day functions. The Governor honoured all the participating children's cultural teams and parade contingents by  presenting them with trophies. The Governor also honoured the officers, employees, sportspersons, students who have done commendable work in various fields.Many  dignitaries including Gurgaon MLA, Sh. Sudhir Singla, Sohna MLA, Sh. Sanjay Singh, Pataudi MLA, Sh. Satyaprakash Jarawata, Mayor Madhu Azad, Secretary to the Governor,  Sh. Atul Kumar, Director General of Police, Sh. Manoj Yadava, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Yash Garg and Police Commissioner, Sh. KK Rao were present on the occasion.
