DC Poonch Inder Jeet flags off NYK’s Motorcycle rally; DIC’s CAB awareness Campaign

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today flagged off Motorcycle rally organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra and awareness campaign on covid appropriate behaviour started by District Information Centre under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav’ being celebrated the 75 years of India’s Independence.The Nehru Yuva Kendra (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India) organized the rally which started with singing of the National Anthem.The rally was flagged off from the DC Office and culminated at Gulpur Ground and Back to NYK Office.More than 50 bikers associated with different youth clubs of the District participated in the rally.Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner  highlighted the importance of youth engagement in ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav’. District Youth Officer said that Nehru Yuva Kendra was going to organise a series of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav activities across 75 villages of the District.Meanwhile, District Information Centre, under the supervision of District Information Officer, Manjeet Singh organised an awareness campaign on COVID Appropriate Behaviour.During the awareness programme, the Information Department appealed to the people through public announcements to follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour to stay safe.The people were urged to wear masks while going out of their homes, keep physical distance and avoid visiting crowded places. They were advised to take tests even on having mild symptoms to ensure early intervention.Through the announcements, the people were  also appealed to take Covid vaccines as it is the ultimate solution to stay safe from the Coronavirus infection.Prominent among others present were Baarat Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner; Liaqat Ali, Additional Superintendent of Police; Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi  Assistant Commissioner Revenue; Nitin Hangloo, District Youth Officer, NYK;  and others.
