The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary today chaired a meeting of district officers and representatives of security agencies to review the arrangements for smooth celebration of 75th Independence Day, here.The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at District Police lines whereas similar functions would be held at Police lines Awantipora and at  all Tehsil headquarters.It was also given out that contingents of JKP, CRPF, Home Guard, students of government and private schools will participate in the march past parade. Meanwhile employees who have done exemplary work in different fields will be awarded certificates of appreciation and prizes.The DC stressed for hoisting of National Flag at all prominent Govt Offices particularly in all Panchayats. He also directed all District Officers to ensure the participation of all Govt employees in the celebrations. Choudhary directed the officials to ensure adequate security arrangements, parking facilities and proper seating arrangements as per the guidelines issued by authorities at the venue, besides ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply.He also directed the Health department to set up an adequate number of medical camps with proper staff, ambulance and Medicare facilities at the respective venues where Independence Day functions will be held in the district.The DC directed the officials of the Municipal Committee to maintain cleanliness in and around District Police lines, roads, and streets in the town. He further called for close coordination among the concerned departments for smooth and peaceful conduct of the Independence Day.Additional District Development Commissioner, SSP Pulwama, Awantipora, Additional Deputy Commissioners Pulwama and Awantipora, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE Pulwama, Senior civil, Army and Police officers and other concerned officers were present at the meeting.
