Take Leave Before Joining Any NGO Activities-Sikandar Singh Malluka

The Punjab Government has taken serious view of the absentee teachers and other staff of the government schools indulged in the activities of the non government organizations and other voluntary organizations and has issued directions to the authorities concerned to keep a check on the rising trend of shirking work.Stating this here today Sikandar Singh Malluka, Education Minister Punjab said that it was unfortunate that the teaching community was involved with one NGO or the other and remain absent from work. To streamline the functioning of the educational institutions, Mr. Malluka has directed the District Education Officers to initiate strict action against the erring teaching/non-teaching staff and issued a directive that if anybody wanted to be associated with NGOs and VOs then the prior sanctioned leave from the higher authorities was required so that the working of the institution did not hamper.Adding further, the Minister said that the Punjab government was committed to strengthen and improve quality of education in Government Schools by taking steps in academic and non-academic spheres of the existing education system.
