Poshan Abhiyan: District Convergence Committee discusses finalization of annual plan

District Convergence Committee on Poshan Abhiyan today discussed the annual plan here at its meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner Vikas Sharma.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Planning Officer, Programme Officer ICDS, District Social Welfare Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, representatives of Xen PHE, DIO and CDPO Gandoh.At the outset, the Program Officer ICDS, Shahida Parveen briefed the meeting about the different aspects that are important for the formulation of the Convergence Plan under Poshan Abhiyan.The DDC urged the heads of concerned departments to work in tandem and pool their efforts for effective implementation of the convergence plan to achieve tangible results under the Poshan Abhiyan.Moreover, the DDC also directed to complete the survey of malnourished and stunted children through the dedicated app 'Poshan Tracker' at an earliest.Regarding provision of the supply of water to all the Anganwadi centres, the DDC directed the Jal Shakti and ICDS department to come up with a precise plan for the same. He said provision of safe drinking water to AWCs should be given first priority.The ICDS and RDD officers were directed to draft the convergence plan and get it approved for construction of toilet facilities in the government Anganwadi buildings.
