Vijay Inder Singla distributes Free Land Ownership right certificates under Basera Scheme

Punjab School Education and Public Works Minister and MLA from Sangrur constituency Mr. Vijay Inder Singla today distributed ownership certificates of Lands to about 50 residents of slum areas of the city under the Slum Development Program 'Basera' launched by Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh.  Simultaneously during a separate program, the Cabinet Minister also distributed sanction certificates of financial assistance of Rs. 1.5 lakh each to as many as 165 beneficiaries under Punjab Urban Housing Scheme for construction of permanent houses. Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that Sangrur constituency is like his own family and he would not allow any eligible beneficiary living in the constituency to be deprived of the benefits of welfare schemes of the government.  He said that for this purpose, he has also deployed his team under the leadership of local leaders who have been visiting the houses of the people and make them aware about the welfare schemes and their benefits.Mr. Singla said that today Free land rights Certificates have been issued to the eligible beneficiaries under Basera Scheme at Ravidas Nagar, Sundar Basti, Ghumiar Basti, Bhalla Basti and Dr.  Ambedkar Nagar.  Mr. Singla said that under this scheme more than 1 lakh slum residents across Punjab would be given such property rights and in Sangrur constituency, about 621 families have been found eligible who would be given property rights before September 30.Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that it was a commendable decision of the Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh to launch the Basera Scheme and give land ownership rights to the poor and needy people for which the claims of previous governments had never been fulfilled.On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir, SDM Sangrur Yashpal Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (UT) Devdarshdeep Singh, EO Ramesh Kumar, all local Congress leaders and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
