Chief Minister today held virtual meeting with the Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, Chief Medial Officers, Principals and Medial Superintendents of all Medical Colleges of the State to review the situation in the State, keeping in view the sharp surge in Covid-19 cases in the State, besides reviewing the situation arisen due to the drought like situation in the State.Chief Minister said that the twin strategy for testing, tracing and treatment with effective surveillance through micro containment zones was the need of the hour. He asked all the Deputy Commissioners to ensure increasing the number of testing being done in their respective districts. He said that the State Health Department must ensure minimum wastage of vaccine as the Nation and State cannot afford this. He said that greater emphasis must also be laid on RT-PCR tests and accomplish the target fixed for achieving 70 per cent tests. He said that to make vaccination people's movement, 11th to 14th April may be celebrated as 'Teeka Utsav'Jai Ram Thakur said that the biggest matter of concern was that the virus was spreading at a fast pace. He said that in addition to this, the number of death has also increased rapidly which was a matter of concern. He said that all the districts must enhance their capacity be it bed capacity, quarantine capacity and medical equipment capacity etc.He said that the Deputy Commissioners must also ensure peoples’ participation in tackling this situation. He said that effective involvement of elected representatives of PRIs and Urban Local Bodies must also be ensured as was being done last year.

Chief Minister said that strict action must also be taken against those involved in gross violation of SOPs. He said that the hoteliers must also strictly follow the SOPs so that the State Government may not be forced to take action. He said that laxity shown by the people has resulted in sharp resurgence of Covid cases in the State.  He said that special focus must be laid on regular monitoring of people in home isolation. He said that ASHA workers, Anganwari workers and other health workers should regularly monitor the patients under home isolation. He said that people should also be motivated to go for immediate testing as soon as they get any symptoms so that they could be provided treatment without delay.Chief Minister said that the Deputy Commissioners must also keep a tab on the drought like situation in their respective districts. He said that fodder issue must also be monitored regularly so that the farmers may not face any inconvenience.Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur said that all the Deputy Commissioners must provide a detailed and consolidated report regarding the losses, the district has suffered due to the drought like situation in the State. He said that the Deputy Commissioners must also provide detailed report regarding losses to agriculture and horticulture crops. He said that land must be identified to construct rain water harvesting structures for water conservation. Chief Secretary Anil Khachi said that greater focus must be laid on vaccination, but important approach still remains Covid appropriate behaviour. He said that there must be no delay in taking appropriate action to check spread of this virus. He said that people must be motivated to strictly follow the SOPs issued from time to time. He said that youth associations such as NYK, Youth Clubs, NSS etc must be involved to help fight this pandemic. Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi welcomed the Chief Minister and conducted the proceedings of the meeting.Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue R.D. Dhiman, Director NHM Dr. Nipun Jindal, Director Health Services and other officers attended the meeting.
