BJP is confident to win with clear cut majority: Arti Mehra

The top brass of the local unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed its gratitude towards the media of Chandigarh for its fair and unbiased reporting of the events during the election campaign in a press conference held at BJP office, Kamlam, sector 33 today.The conference was addressed by the National Secretary and party In-charge, BJP Chandigarh, Arti Mehra. She was accompanied by the BJP State President, Sanjay Tandon, Vice President, Raghubir Lal Arora, Councilor, Arun Sood, Senior Deputy Mayor Heera Negi, Spokes-persons, Kailash Jain, Dhirender Tayal and Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, District President B C Puri. Besides, Media in-charge, Santosh Mishra, Convener, Ravinder Pathania and Co-convener, Baljinder Gujral were also present.  

While talking to the media persons, Arti Mehra said, “Along with the media fraternity, I want to convey my gratitude to the BJP’s senior leaders, party workers and residents of Chandigarh for playing an important role in the process of selecting the right candidate to represent the city beautiful. We have been receiving overwhelming response and the party is sure that the MP candidate, Kirron Kher will win the seat”.

Adding to it, she said, “With the end of polling in 43 seats in the last leg of the nine-phase election on May 12, various television news channels started their exit polls. It is a good indication that the exit polls have predicted the formation of a Bharatiya Janata Party led government in the Centre. But I believe more in the actual polls than the exit polls. All eyes are set on May 16 when the counting of votes will begin and India-—the world's largest democracy will witness the announcement of new the regime. We are confident that BJP led NDA will surely get the clear cut majority”.Arti Mehra informed that BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi is not only being appreciated in India but in various other countries too. She said that 41 countries were supporting the party through the organization ‘Overseas Friends of BJP’. “I addressed the conference at Moscow and also traveled in Lithuania where people expressed that they wanted Narendra Modi to be the next Prime Minister of India”, Mehra added.

Commenting on the campaign strategy adopted during the elections, Mehra said that the party connected with the common man through the tech-savvy campaigns along with the conventional methods.Sharing more details on it, Arti Mehra informed, “Narendra Modi has created an electoral milestone by addressing 435 public rallies and organized first of its kind 1367 innovative 3D rallies. We have estimated that through these campaigns we were able to connect to more than one crore people. Besides, we garnered support from 40 lakh people over ‘Chai pe Charcha’. Apart from this more than one crore volunteers got registered with the BJP through our Missed Call campaign. Moreover, the party focused on booth management and Sanjay Tandon played a significant role in capturing the booth level support in Chandigarh”.On this occasion Sanjay Tandon informed that the tele-cast of counting of votes and results will be screened at the BJP office Kamlam from 9 am on May 16 amidst the strong presence of the party workers.
