Every Himachal resident should have the experience of joining the glorious development journey of 50 years of the state : Jai Ram Thakur

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that each and every worker of Bhartiya Janta Party should ensure that every Himachali gets a feeling of connect association with the 50 years glorious development journey of the State.  Chief Minister was addressing the State BJP Executive Committee meeting at Dharamshala in district Kangra today.Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government has planned to hold a massive programme to highlight the fifty years of Statehood journey of the State. He said that this Yatra would be called “Swaranim Rath Yatra’ and would be held throughout the State for 51 days. He said that the journey would focus on the developmental journey of the State during the last fifty years. He said that this event would be held at the Government level and sought cooperation of every section of the society to make people aware that Himachal has achieved during last fifty years. Chief Minister said the Rath Yatra would start from Himachal Day on 15th of April this year and would cover every nook and corner of the State. He said that effective use of social media, print media and traditional media would be ensured. He said that the State Level Rath Yatra Coordination Committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of former Speaker, Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and MLA Dr Rajiv Bindal. He said that this would have a detailed presentation on the achievements of the State. He said that the State Government was also planning to hold a special session of the State Vidhan Sabha and efforts would be made to invite President, Vice President or Lok Sabha Speaker of the country.Jai Ram Thakur said the main objective of the Swarnim Himachal Rath Yatra was to ensure active participation of every Himachali and to instill a sense of belongingness. He said the Yatra would focus on showcasing the glorious 50 years developmental journey of Himachal Pradesh. He said that active participation of Ministers, MLAs and elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies must be ensured to make the event a success.Chief Minister said that Swarnim Himachal Rath Yatra would ensure reaching out to approximately 25 lakh people of the State through Rath Yatra and social media. He said that all the major departments of the State must ensure their participation and highlight the achievements of their respective departments.

Jai Ram Thakur said the main focus would be on highlighting the achievements, policies and programmes of the State Government for which the departments must provide their promotional IEC material and brochures regarding developmental journey so that the same could be showcased through the digital Rath Yatra. He said that efforts should also be made to rope in the local and national level artists and cultural troupes to entertain the people besides highlighting the glorious journey of the State through street plays, skits and songs.Chief Minister said that State Level Sub Committees should also be formed to conceptualize and plan the entire Swarnim Rath Yatra programme. He said that these Sub Committees would ensure implementation and monitoring of the entire programme.Jai Ram Thakur said that all the elected representatives must ensure their active participation to make the Rath Yatra a grand success. He said that the Yatra would cover all the 68 Vidhan Sabha areas of the State and educate the people of the State regarding the development the State it had witnessed during the last fifty years. He said that first session would be held at Vidhan Sabha and the second day efforts would be made to hold session at Peterhoff Shimla, where former members of the Vidhan Sabha could also share their experiences regarding the developmental journey of the State during these fifty years.Chief Minister said that the Rath Yatra would carry publicity literature on allround development of the State besides development of the particular area where the Yatra was passing through. He said that all the departments have been directed to prepare literature and other publicity material of development in respect to that particular department. He said that the State Government would also ensure active participation of youth and school students in this developmental journey. He said that this would not only educate them regarding developmental journey of the State, but also motivate them to work towards the development of the State.

Jai Ram Thakur said that video clips highlighting the achievements of the State during the last fifty years would also be prepared and shown during the Rath Yatra. He said that best local artists should also be involved to educate the people of the State regarding achievements of the State through folk dance and songs. He said that the focus would be laid on covering all the sections of the society. He said that issues like women empowerment, upliftment of the weaker sections would also be ensured in the Rath Yatra. Former Speaker State Vidhan Sabha and MLA Dr. Rajiv Bindal also gave his suggestions to make the event a grand success. He said that a proper coordination between the elected representatives and members of respective Panchayati Raj Institutions must be ensured to motivate the people of participate in the rally.Deputy Speaker State Vidhan Sabha Hans Raj suggested that the Yatra should have a glimpse of the achievements of the particular Vidhan Sabha area also.
