DC Kishtwar reviews progress of COVID-19 Vaccination drive in district

Asks Health department to expedite inoculation to achieve set targets

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today reviewed the progress of the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive here at a meeting of Health Department.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; ASP, Mushim Ahmed Choudhary; Dy CMO, Dr. Balbir Kumar;  Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr Parveez Iqbal Wani; District Immunisation Officer, Dr. Chander Prakash; Chief Education Officer, Ashok Kumar besides health Officers and other concerned.At the outset, District Immunisation Officer   gave a brief about the vaccination process. He said that against 893 registered healthcare frontline workers , 574 have been vaccinated. Besides out of the total 784 Anganwari Workers, 49 percent   have been inoculated. He informed that all the necessary steps have been put in place to ensure hassle free   vaccination drive.He further informed that various immunisation points have been established for effective conduct of the immunisation, with a special focus on the collection, storage and administration of vaccine in far flung areas of the District.The meeting was further informed that the vaccination process is using CO-WIN (Covid Vaccine intelligence Work) App, an online digital platform developed by the union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which facilitates real time information of stocks, storage temperature and individualised tracking of the beneficiaries.The DC directed the CMO to expedite the process of immunisation in order to ensure the time bound completion of the targets.He furthermore directed to furnish the list of all the AWWs to the concerned quarters to facilitate their  vaccination.
