4th International Folklore Festival 2020 kicks off at Chandigarh University

Chandigarh University Gharuan has once again come up with the CU Rhythm International Folklore Festival. 4th Chandigarh University Rhythm International Folklore Festival 2020 today formally inaugurated by Mr. Alimbayev Yerlan Kazakhstan's Ambassador, Noted Punjabi Singer & Actor Dr. Satinder Sartaj and Dr. Baljit Singh Sekhon {Joint Secretary AIU}. On this occasion, Satnam Singh Sandhu Chancellor Chandigarh University were also present on this occasion. It is notable that in 4th Chandigarh University International Folklore Festivalhavemore than 1000 participants from 40countries including India who are presenting their traditional and folk dances during the 3 days cultural extravaganza.While inaugurating the 4th CU Rhythm International Folklore Festival Dr. Satinder Sartaj said that, “The Folk of any country depicts its rich culture and heritage, and such International Festivals unite the whole world on a single platform. Music and dance are two form of arts which promote universal harmony across the world. Dr. Baljit Singh Sekhon, Joint Secretary, {Youth Affairs and Sports} in his inaugural message said that youth play a vital role in promoting dignity for world culture and the participation from the youth are important in shaping the cultural ties. He also emphasizes how COVID-19 Pandemic is impacting the academic and cultural ties around the world.In his inaugural message, His Excellency Mr. Alimbayev Yerlan Kazakhstan's Ambassador to the Republic of India stated that “It is a commendable job done by Chandigarh University to organize International Folklore Festival virtually”. He further adds “More than 5000 students of India are studying in Kazakhstan and more than 2000 students of Kazakhstan are studying in India. This will help in making strong Cultural ties with India”.4th CU rhythm International Folklore Festival 2020 will represent the essence of the worldwide global community and will bring people together from all walks of life in the spirit of unity and friendship stated Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, Chandigarh University. He further adds “The main motive of the event is to safeguard the blend of the cultural heritage of the world.
