Gandhi Jyanti celebrated with fervor, gaiety across Jammu

Gandhi Jyanti was today celebrated with fervour and gaiety across Jammu by organizing cleanliness drives and pledge taking ceremonies for a clean and green Bharat. Pledge Ceremony on Swachhta Abhyan was held in the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu  under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma here today.He stressed upon the staff to make the environment and surrounding neat and clean.After the pledge, the staff of Divisional Commissioner office launched a cleanliness drive in the complex.Directorate of Horticulture Jammu, organised a pledge ceremony   under the chairmanship of Director Horticulture, Ram Savak.Director impressed upon all the participants to make cleanliness a regular feature in and around the vicinity including the offices of their jurisdiction.A cleanliness drive in the museum and the Horticulture complex was also organised.Directorate of Rural Development Jammu  took the Swachhta pledge  led by Director, Rural Development, Sudershan. The Director impressed upon the officers & staff members to make it a habit to keep their surroundings neat and clean and make other people to follow the same.The J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board  celebrated 151st Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Udyog Bhawan Jammu. 

The program was chaired by Director Industries Jammu Anu Malhotra and attended by Tilak Raj Dy. Chief Executive Officer KVIB Division Office Jammu, In-charge Direction Office Dr. Sandeep Kotwal and other senior officers and officials of KVIB.Directorate of Agriculture celebrated Gandhi Jayanti wherein a Pledge of Cleanliness “Swahhta Pledge”   was administrated to Officers and Officials of the Directorate. Officers and Officials of the Directorate of Agriculture and Subordinate Offices attended the Pledge taking ceremony and resolved to keep their surroundings clean and also motivate others to do so.Directorate of Sheep Husbandry Jammu  organized a Swachhta Pledge Ceremony  in office  Complex.Officers and staff of Directorate of Sheep Husbandry and other offices of the department participated and pledge to serve the nation by keeping the country neat and clean. SKUAST-Jammu celebrated the 151st birth anniversary  of Father of the Nation by highlighting the Gandhian values Vice Chancellor, Prof. J. P. Sharma shared the ideology of Truth, Non-violence, Sarvodaya and Satyagraha the four pillars of Gandhian thought. Dean Students Welfare office along with NSS instructors in “Student Centre” of SKUAST-J conducted the function.Hostel wardens, NSS Volunteers, Faculty members both teaching and non-teaching, security personnel and students paid floral tributes to Father of the Nation.A pledge was taken by all the participants on offline and online mode to stay committed towards cleanliness.Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) Jammu celebrated 151st Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi by organizing a pledge ceremony led by Principal, Dr Sameru Sharma, and attended by Vinakshi Koul, Registrar, faculty, staff and students of the institution  both through Off-line  as well as  On-line mode.

At Doda

District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode administered pledge to the officers in his office chamber, while ADC, Kishori Lal Sharma administered pledge to the officials. The  DDC   also paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.The DDC extended greetings to the people of the district on the birth anniversary of the Mahatama Gandhi.

At Rajouri

The 151th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was also marked with a Swachhta pledge organized by the district Administration.Deputy Commissioner , Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sher Singh, Chief Planning Officer, Shama-un Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria, and others Officers were present at the Swachhta Pledge taking ceremony.

At Kishtwar

The  District Administration in collaboration with the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj institution organised the Swatchhta pledge ceremony   at the Conference Hall New DC office Complex  The pledge was administered in presence of  Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar.Earlier in the morning the Department of Education in collaboration with Department of District Youth services and Sports Kishtwar organised the "Fit India  Freedom Run".Several teachers and students participated in the programme with due observance of COVID19 protocols.

At POONCH

The district administration celebrated the 151th Gandhi Jayanti and paid rich tributes to the Father of Nation.The day began with a Swatchta pledge taking ceremony whereby all the district officers, staff members, general public formed a chain and resolved to contribute towards sustainable development and influence others to do the same.Later, District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav along with senior officers, officials of the district administration and public conducted a Swatchta drive in Poonch town. 

At Udhampur

District Administration Udhampur celebrated “Rashtriya Swachhta Diwas” on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla where District officers/officials participated.The DDC paid rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and threw light on the teaching and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi Ji. He also administered a swachhta pledge to all  participants.

At Ramban

District Administration celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with national fervour and enthusiasm and paid rich tributes to the father of the Nation. A cleanliness campaign was also launched on this occasion at many places of the district.

At Samba

Celebrating the birth anniversary of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi, district administration Samba  organized a pledge ceremony at court house of DC office complex.Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria administered the swachhta pledge to the district officers, officials and staff members of the DC office complex.

At Reasi

District Administration Reasi convened a swachta pledge ceremony at district headquarter.Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal led the ceremony in presence of other senior officers of civil administration.
