Government Would Not Resort To Political Vendetta

Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh said that the State Government would not resort to political vendetta and would adopt zero-tolerance towards corruption. He was speaking at the convention of District Shimla Congress Committee here today. 

Chief Minister warned that anyone involved in corruption at any level won't be spared and tolerated at all. He said that previous Government had breached the democratic rights and right to privacy of common man by illegally interrupting  their phone calls. He indicated that officers/officials involved in phone tapping would not be spared and strict action would be taken according to law of the land. 

Virbhadra Singh said that the previous BJP Government had misused the resources of the State and Himachal Road Transport Corporation had become bankrupt due to unfounded policies of the BJP Government. He said that new buses would be introduced in the fleet of HRTC buses and improvement be made in the existing fleet. 

He said that pace of development would be accelerated in the field of education, health, power supply, water supply and certain other sectors as the people of the State had much expectations from the Congress Government and concerted efforts would be made for fulfilling the aspirations of the people. 

Critising the  BJP Government for framing  two false cases against him, he said that he was  acquitted by the Court from every case, adding that the person involved in framing such  false cases would be deal with strictly. He hoped that the people of the State would give large mandate to the Congress Party in coming Parliamentary Elections too.

On the occasion, Chief Minister released the book titled 'Solan Janpad Ki Lokdev Parampara' authored by Shri Amardev.

Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, President, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee lauded the role of the leaders of the Congress Party for promoting unity. In his appeal to the party workers he stressed the need for being more disciplined and honest. He said that experience in politics count more than the seniority though both are necessary and of immense benefit to the party. 

He said that Congress Party had worked for the welfare of every sections of the society and ensured to protect their rights, whereas the BJP Government had promoted the Land Mafia. Smt. Vidya Stokes, Irrigation and Public Health Minister stressed on the need for women empowerment and said that the women had to establish their identity among society and other sectors. She called upon the party workers to work hard during the coming Lok Sabha Elections. Shri Harsh Mahajan, Chairman, Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank, Shri Rohit Thakur, Shri Nand Lal , Shri Mohan Lal Bragta and Shri Anirudh Singh, MLAs, Shri Subhash Manglet, former MLA, Shri Kehar Singh Khachi, President, Shimla Distt. Congress Committee and senior leaders of the Congress Party were also present amongst the others.
