New Recuitments In Roadways Would Be The First Priority-Transport Minister

Punjab transport Minister Mr Ajit Singh Kohar today said that new recruitments in the roadways would be his first priority.   Disclosing this here today in maiden meeting of Roadways officials at Punjab Bhavan, Mr Kohar said that the process for the new recruitment would be initiated soon. He said that Punjab Roadways was making a significant contribution in the development of the state and presently it has commuting fleet of 1798 buses with 60 Lakh people traveled daily in it. He said that for speedy development a state needs strong transport system and Punjab government was fully committed to make Punjab Roadways more efficient. He sought a report of the villages, which have no means of public transportation and said that all these villages in the state would be attached to their near cities with government bus service.Taking note of the problems faced by common man while traveling, he urged the employees to behave in a courteous manner. He also asked officials to ensure their presence at headquarters for smooth functioning.  Mr Kohar also revealed that all workshops of roadways across the state would be renewed. Secretary Transport Mr Mandeep Singh besides GMs and DTOs from all over the state were present in the meeting.
