To give Patiala villages a better facelift, Rural Development and Panchayat Department striving hard by implementing variuos projects.Disclosing this here today Additional Deputy  Commissioner (Development) Patiala Dr. Preeti Yadav said that during the current fiscal,  45 model playgrounds and stadiums would be constructed in the district to connect the  youth of the villages with sports and the work of these in progress.  She said that a model park has been set up at village Ucha Gao in Patiala block which  is proving environment  friendly for the villagers. Similarly, 90 more model parks would come up soon in the district to beautify the look of the villages. Dr. Yadav said that in order to redress the problem  of garbage in the villages, in the first phase, garbage would be collected from house to house in 45 villages and then composted. Dr.  Preeti Yadav also said that recharge wells  would be constructed under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme to raise the ground water level and efforts were being made to increase the income of Gram Panchayats by  preparing vermi compost. ADC (D) appealed to the Gram Panchayats to take maximum advantage of this scheme and prepare projects to change the facia of their villages and  send them to the district office through their respective Block Development and Panchayat Officers.  She clarified that there was no dearth of funds in Mahatma Gandhi NREGA for  providing employment to the people as well as for the development of the villages.
