Independence Day: Kishtwar admin finalizes arrangements

District administration Kishtwar today finalized the   arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day 2020, here at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara.It was decided that this year the venue for the celebration of National event would be DC Office Complex Mini Secretariat. The cultural programme by local artists would be restricted to 2 to 3 items with limited number of participants because of COVID-19 threat.Deputy Chief Education Officer, Rajinder Sen informed  that Education department has arranged the online patriotic songs and cultural items prepared by the school students and other local artists, which  will be displayed  virtually through social media  platforms.The DDC asked the Chief Medical Officer {CMO ) to install  counters at the entrance point of the venue with provision of sanitizers, masks for the invitees and thermal guns for their  screening.Other arrangements regarding the hoisting of tricolour, March past, Shahnaivadan, PAS , master of ceremony, singing of National anthem, sitting plan, drinking water facility, refreshment, illumination of town, uninterrupted supply of power, and other key activities were also reviewed.To ensure the observance of social distancing and  adherence of other COVID-19 protocols at  the venue, the DDC directed the management committee to ensure limited and proper sitting arrangement and check on unrestricted movement at the venue.The meeting decided to felicitate the students with excellent record in academic and other fields and all the COVID warriors   for their commendable jobs.Besides, the DDC also reviewed the law and order situation in the district ahead of the Independence day celebration and finalised the security arrangements with the security officials.It was further decided that the full dress rehearsal would be conducted on August 13 at the venue of the function, while all district and Sectoral officers were asked to ensure their presence.
