DDC inspects landslide hit area in Kud

Constitutes expert committee to assess damages, suggest corrective measures

To assess the damages caused due to landslide/underground earth damages/sinking at Pachote ward No.  3, 5, Mandlote and Kud area, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla visited the affected areas  and interacted with BDC Chairman Chenani and locals.The DDC constituted a committee of experts comprising Executive Engineer R&B, Executive Engineer Flood Control and Irrigation, a Geologist from Jammu University and Tehsildar Chenani to ascertain the reason for land sinking.The DDC asked the committee to visit the spot to conduct a detailed survey/study of the area affected by the landslide/underground earth damages and suggest preventive/corrective measures to overcome the situation. The committee was asked to ascertain whether the area can be protected by adopting some technical measures or the site be declared unsafe for residential purpose.The  DDC asked  the committee to submit a detailed action taken plan/status report along with specific  recommendations regarding  percentage of damage   occurred  to the public/private  property, cost involved  to restore the damage  and submit report  within 15 days  positively.
