DC Directs Officials To Take Action Against Those Spreading Water-Borne Diseases In City

Asks Them To Issue Challan Of Larva Case Being Detected In City

To tighten the noose around the people responsible for spreading water-borne diseases, the Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori today directed the officials of health department and civic body to issue challan of each larva case being detected in the city.Presiding over a meeting at District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner categorically said that there would not be any kind of leniency on the violators as it is time to teach them a lesson. He asked the officials to take action where the larva is being found.The Deputy Commissioner said that these days are conducive for the spread of the water-borne disease. He ordered the MC and health department to start fogging and cover each ward of the city respectively.Mr Thori stated that the health department should also make the rural people aware of the possible breeding grounds of Aedes aegypti mosquito, responsible for dengue, through their grassroots health workers.DC further told the parents of small kids should be motivated to apply mosquito repellent cream on kids' arms and legs which protects from mosquito-borne diseases.He said that all the government officers should observe Friday as the dry day and should ensure the cleaning of desert coolers and other waste containers.Nodal Officer-cum-Epidemiologist Dr Satish Kumar told that larva teams have already been carrying out inspection daily and sensitizing the people to not to allow stagnation of water, keep cleanliness, empty the desert coolers, water containers daily under a drive as part of Mission Fateh.He said that 15 challans have already been issued against the violators where larva was found by teams.On the occasion, ADCs Mr Vishesh Sarangal, Mr Jasbir Singh, SDMs Mr Rahul Sindhu, Dr Jai Inder Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawala and others were present.
