DC Meets Top-Scorers Of Government Schools In PSEB Class-12 Examinations

Felicitates Them With Scholarships Worth Rs 1.20 Lakh

The Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today handed over scholarships worth Rs 1.20 lakh to 12 top-scoring students including 10 girls and two boys of government schools in recently declared class-12 examinations by Punjab School Education Board.Mr Thori met 12 top-scorers three in each Medical, Non-Medical, Commerce and Arts streams in his office and complimented them for their rare feat.He said that the scholarship worth Rs 10,000 has been given to the each of top-scorer and it was just a small recognition of the hard work and dedication of the students who had burnt midnight oil to excel in the field of academics.Congratulating the students, the Deputy Commissioner said that their success was the result of the hard work and dedication adding that they have excelled in studies because they have burnt the midnight oil for this purpose. He also complimented the faculty of the schools which has made sure that students work hard and give the result.Describing self-discipline and sense of responsibility as the ultimate key to success, Mr Thori said that both these qualities could help them to achieve their big dreams and contributed towards the development of the country and state. He called upon them to continue this hard work and strive hard for excellence in future.The Deputy Commissioner said that these students would ever act as a beacon to inspire their other peers to shine in the field of academics and brig laurel for their family and city.Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration was ever ready to help such meritorious students In Medical stream, Vanita (98 %), Supriya (97.55%), Akshay Kumar (97.11%), Pratibha (98.44%), Dhara Vishnu Priya  (98.44 %), Keshav Singh (98.44 %) in Non-Medical, Ashu (98.66 %), Jyoti (98.66 %), Chetna (98.44%) in Arts, Harpreet Kaur ( 98%), Anjali (97.77 %) and Nitika Sharma (96.88 %) were distributed scholarships by the Deputy Commissioner. Keeping in-view Covid-19 pandemic situation, the students were awarded scholarships in two-groups, one in the morning and second in the evening.
