3rd Phase of Training for Capacity Building conducted in Pulwama

The 3rd phase of training for Capacity Building regarding Safe Business Practices and COVID Management was today conducted here.The programme was organised by District Disaster Management Authority Pulwama under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr. Raghav Langer, also Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority Pulwama.While interacting with the participants, the DC said that there are 267 active positive cases out of total 538 cases reported so far besides 267 recovered and 4 deaths, adding he said that there are presently 35 Red Zones in the district and 21 are partially de-notified zones.Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the existence of Coronavirus pandemic is a reality and people will have to learn to live with it by adhering to precautions and guidelines as issued by the government from time to time.He said under this programme all main services providers are being trained about precautions, hygiene, social distancing and other notified protocols besides other stakeholders were sensitised about the need to adopt safety procedures and follow advisories issued in this regard.The DC said that the administration has roped in print and electronic media and has also invited NGOs, academics and other organisations as stakeholders in public awareness, training and capacity building for planning a safe exit from lockdown without losing focus on the fight against pandemicExperts and senior officers from concerned departments also spoke on the occasion sensitising the participants during the training programme.It is worth mentioning here that a dedicated team of officials has been constituted by the Deputy Commissioner for facilitating stakeholders in production and delivery of items, and for areas notified as red zones a special set of measures have been put in place to ensure smooth service in this regard.These programmes are being organised for a host of important service providers including vegetable vendors, milk suppliers, hairdressers, laundry, public transport, telecommunications, and housekeeping among other services.Meanwhile district administration Pulwama plans to train more than 5,000 service providers during the next one month and this shall go alongside gradual opening of select sectors while keeping the focus on public health aspects of the pandemic.Among others Chief Planning Officer, District Statistics Evaluation Officer, Tehsildar Pulwama, Food and Drug Administration Pulwama, Health and other concerned functionaries attended the meeting besides Panches, Sarpanches and Lumberdars participated in large numbers in the programme.
