Pulwama: Three Militants killed in Tral village,Operation ends

Three Militants were Killed in South Kashmir's Tral Chewa Ullar area Of Pulwama in an encounter today.Sources told, Three dead bodies were recovered from the Gunfight site as the Operation ends, An Official said,The Operation was launched after forces recieved specific input about presence of Militants in the area yesterday where Combined forces 42RR and 180 Crpf launched searches there.As the forces encircled the suspected spot Militants fired upon forces which was retaliated leading Gunfight which ends today with the killing of three Militants,The identity of these Militants is being ascertained by Police.Srinagar based defense spokesperson in a Statement read as, Op Chewa (Pulwama). Here is Police Statement read as

June 26: On a specific input generated by Awantipora Police regarding presence of terrorists in village Chewa Ullar area of Awantipora, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Police, 42RR and 180Bn CRPF in the said area.During the search operation as the presence of terrorists got ascertained they were given opportunity to surrender, however they fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party, which was retaliated leading to an encounter.In the ensuing encounter, 03 terrorists were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. The identification and affiliation of the killed terrorists is being ascertained.Arms and ammunition including 02 AK rifle, 06 AK Magazine, 05 AK rounds, 01 Pistol, 01 Pistol Magazine, 04 Pistol Rds and other incriminating materials were recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their role and complicity in other terror crimes.The dead bodies of the killed terrorists have been sent to Handwara for their last rites after conducting medico-legal formalities including collection of their DNA. In case any family claims the killed terrorists to be their kith or kin, they can come forward for their identification and participation in last rites at Handwara.In this connection a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tral and investigation has been initiated.People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosive materials, if any.
