DC Poonch chairs meeting of BDC Chairpersons; seeks cooperation in battle against COVID-19

Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, on Tuesday convened a meeting with the BDC Chairpersons and district administration to discuss and review management of COVID-19 and issues impeding the pace of development works in the district.While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner sought cooperation from The BDC chairpersons and others n the battle against this global pandemic saying that collective efforts against this deadly virus is need of the hour. He added that the district administration is working at its full potential to counter the pandemic in the district and concerted efforts are being made to mitigate the sufferings of the common masses so that they don't face any inconvenience in these challenging times.Deputy Commissioner said that the Block Developmental Chairpersons can play a significant role in containing the spread of Coronavirus by generating awareness among the people of their areas about the preventive measures which can be adopted to remain safe from this deadly and invisible enemy of mankind.He asked the chairpersons to also bring in notice of the district administration the issues and demands of their areas amid COVID-19 so that they can be redressed in a time bound manner.Various issues pertaining to delay in SBM and MGNREGA payments, aadhar seeding, augmentation of medical facilities and others were discussed in detail.The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development Poonch Rajesh Lakhan,District Panchayat Officer Mukhlis Ali, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ghulam Malik and Block Development Officers.
