The District Police here today honoured 80 public volunteers for making exceptional contribution towards ensuring the success of Mission Fateh, by presenting them with badges.  These public volunteers assist the police at nakas and check points in making the people aware regarding the safety precautions to be undertaken in the wake of corona virus  pandemic such as wearing masks when going out, maintaining social distancing and washing hands with soap for 20 seconds as often as possible.Disclosing this here today, a  spokesman from the department said that as per the directions of the SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal, the District Police is actively involving common people in the fight against  corona virus and in the process encouraging them to be Mission Fateh Warriors as public participation is very important in making the mission fateh a success.Divulging more, he  said that the District Police under the guidance of the SSP, is also rendering valuable service in ensuring the success of MISSION FATEH by ensuring strict action against those  not wearing masks, spitting at the public places and failing to maintaining the social distance in accordance with the guidelines of the Government. From the 20th of May, 2020 till  21st of June, 2020, the District Police has issued challans to 2202 persons for various offences such as not wearing of the proper masks, spitting at the public places and not  maintaining the proper social distancing which yielded a total amount of Rs. 6,73,700.For the offence of not wearing a mask when going out, a total of 2155 persons have been  challaned and Rs. 661400 collected, For spitting at the public places a total of 43 persons have been challaned and Rs. 4300 collected and for the offence of not maintaining the  proper social distancing, a total of 4 persons have been challaned and amount to the tune of Rs. 8000 collected.
