Villages to get Rs 150 crore under phase ii of SVC under ‘Mission Fateh’

After development works worth Rs 45 crore in first phase, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would soon embark development work worth more than Rs 150 crore to give facelift to 961 villages of the district in second phase of  the Smart Village Campaign (SVC) under ‘Mission Fateh’.Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, while chairing a meeting of the officers, said that in order to benefit the rural populace in the post lockdown period, the state government has taken this decision. He said that this was a path breaking initiative of the state government to give impetus to the development of the villages and ensure prosperity of the people residing in them. Mr. Sharma said that the state government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has made a comprehensive plan for giving impetus to the all round development of the villages in the district. The Deputy Commissioner said that under this campaign development works have been identified for 961 villages of the district which would be executed from the funds from the Finance Commission, Rural Development Fund and others. Mr. Sharma said that an elaborate mechanism has been devised for the smooth and efficient execution of the development projects under this scheme. 

He said that the proposals for the identified development works have been sent to the state government for approval and the funds would be released soon to start these development works.The Deputy Commissioner asked the Sub Divisional Magistrates to ensure that the work was started and completed within the stipulated time period for the well being of the people. He said that it was the need of hour for giving fillip to the overall development of the state.Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vishesh Sarangal said that the flawless execution of the work would be monitored constantly by the district administration and the state government. He said that this campaign for act as a catalyst to ensure comprehensive development of the villages through these works. He said that the development works would be carried on in 69 villages of Adampur block, 69 of Nakodar block, 98 of Phillaur block, 65 of Rurka Kalan block, 95 of Bhogpur block, 78 of Nurmahal block, 46 of Mehatpur block, 178 of Jalandhar East block, 74 of Shahkot block, 61 of Lohian Khaas Block and 128 of Jalandhar West block.On the occasion Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr. Rahul Sindhu, Mr. Gautam Jain, Dr. Jai Inder Singh and Mr. Vineet Kumar, Assistant Commissioners Mr. Varjeet Walia and Mr. Harpreet Singh, Deputy Director Local Government Ms. Anupam Kaler, District Development and Panchayat Officer Mr. Iqbaljit Singh Sahota, Joint Deputy Director Local Government Mr. Paramjit Singh and others were also present.
