Farmers opting for land pooling facility not to pay additional charges for preferential locations

In a good news for the farmers of the district who had opted for the land pooling facility in the Aerocity, Eco City-2, IT City and Sector-88 and 89 (under GMADA), they won’t have to pay additional charges anymore for the preferential locations. A notification to this effect has been issued by GMADA. The farmers who has deposited money regarding the above locations of the plots, would now get their money back within 3 months from GMADA.Divulging this, the Health Minister, Punajb and MLA from Mohali Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that this decision would benefit a large number of farmers who had opted for the land pooling facility. He also disclosed that earlier, the additional charges at the rate of 10 percent for the corner plot, and the facing park plots and 15 percent in case of both being joint, were levied from the farmers.He further added that the allottee farmers were demanding since long time the rollback of these additional surcharges and the Chief  Minister has bestowed a gift to the farming community by fulfilling his promise made at the time of elections. 

The decision would also benefit those farmers who opt for land pooling during the acquisition of new lands.Thanking the Chief Minister and the Housing & Urban Development Minister Mr. Sukhbinder Singh Sukh Sarkaria, and the GMADA Secretary Sarbjit Singh, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the decision has sparked a wave of elation amongst the farmers of the area.Among those who expressed happiness at the decision included Boota Singh Sohana, Tara Singh, Randhir Singh Chaumajra, Sarpanch Bakarpur Jagtar Singh, Bahal Singh Gill, Jaswinder Singh Gill, Bhagat Singh Namdhari Mauli Baidwan, Sarpanch Landran village Harcharan Singh Gill, Sarpanch New Landran village Gurmukh Singh, Sarpanch village Manauli Zora Singh,  Surjit Singh Manak Majra, Balkar Singh Lakhnaur, Jaspal Singh Manak Majra, Kesar Singh , Dilbagh Singh, Sarpanch of Barri Village Manphul Singh and Sarpanch viilage Patton Lakhmir Singh.
