DC Shopian inspects developmental works

Visits hailstorm hit areas to assess crop damage

Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Chaudhary Mohammad Yasin, today, visited several hailstorms hit areas in the district and took stock of the damage caused to orchards. He asked the officers accompanied by him to assess the cost of damage and submit the report for compensation.During his visit, he interacted with the affected farmers and assured them all possible help from the district administration.Meanwhile DC visited Sedow Aharbal and inspected developmental works coming up there. He emphasized upon the engineers accompanied by him to speed up their developmental activities on war footed basis so that better road connectivity is provided to the villagers.During the visit, DC interacted with the villagers, listened their grievances and exhorted upon the concerned officers present on the occasion for early redressal of the problems of the farmers. He asked people to maintain strictly the social distance, use face masks, sanitizers and hand washing, keeping in view the spread of Covid-19 disease and advised them not to go out from their houses unnecessarily.Later, DC visited Government High school Sedow Shopian and distributed some Sports kits among the students (Players). Among others Officers, Engineers and Tehsildar Shopian were present on the occasion.
