As proof of the dedicated efforts of the District Administration along with the Food and Civil Supplies Department, the ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna’ (PMGKY) has seen 5586 Metric Tonnes of Wheat and 288 Metric Tonnes of Dal being distributed to a total of 94000 smart ration card holders in the district at the rate of 15 Kg of wheat per member for 3 months and 3 Kg of Dal per family as 3 months lump-sum, free of cost under the National Food Security Act, 2013. This was disclosed here today by the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan.He clearly stated that no laxity would be tolerated in the distribution process and the policy of zero tolerance is being adopted towards any malpractice as it is the goal of the District Administration to ensure that every genuine beneficiary receives its fair share of benefit under this flagship scheme.He also said that today the distribution work was undertaken in Village Mataur, Village Mohali, Phase-3B2, Basma, Dhelpur, Gobindgarh, Mauli Baidwan with 7000 beneficiaries deriving the benefit.
