Health Minister distributes ration packets to 2500 workers

The workers toiling hard day and night in the factories and various industrial institutions are the backbone of the economic structure of Punjab and the State Government would  leave no stone unturned in ensuring their welfare. These views were expressed here today by the Health and Family Welfare, Labour Minister and MLA (Mohali) Mr. Balbir Singh  Sidhu on the occasion of distributing ration packets to approximately 2500 workers and labourers working in various factories. The ration packets included 5 Kg Atta, 2 Kg Sugar  and 1 Kg Dal.Divulging more, the minister said that it has always been the sincere endeavour of the State Government to frame policies and guidelines aimed at ensuring the  better working condition for the industrial workers and today's initiative is just a small attempt to drive home the point that the government is always ready to help them in their  hour of need.Mr. Sidhu also exhorted the workers to strictly follow the guidelines regarding social distancing, wearing of masks, Use of hand sanitizers and washing of hands as  often as possible, in order to be safe from the corona virus.Among others present on the occasion included the Political Secretary to the Minister—Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma  Machhli Kalan, President Mohali Industries Association Mr. Yogesh Sagar, Ex President Mohali Industries Association Mr. Anurag Aggarwal and the General Secretary of the  Association Mr. Rajiv Gupta.
