With Efforts Of Captain Government Two More ‘Shramik Express’ Trains Ply With 2400 Migrants From City

With the concerted efforts of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh two more ‘Shramik Express’ trains with around 2400 migrants today chugged  off for Sitapur and Rai Bareli.The state government has spend Rs 4.92 lakh for free travel of migrants to Sitapur and Rs 5.58 lakh for Rai Bareli. The 27th train to Sitapur departed  from city at 8 am whereas the 28th train for Rae Bareli chugged off at 2 pm in the afternoon. The state government has borne expenditure worth Rs 10.50 lakh on plying of both  the trains. Before the chugging of trains the migrants were checked at the transit points set up by the district administration. Thereafter these migrants were transported to the city  Railway station in the buses owned by the state government. The migrants on arrival at the Railway station were provided free food by the administration along with water and  other facilities. Later they were screened by the team of Health department before being allowed to enter in the train. The norm of social distancing was thoroughly followed  during the entire exercise.Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Balkar Singh, who was supervising the entire operations at the city Railway station, said that his was  a noble initiative taken by the state government to ensure that migrants, who aspire to visit their native states, could go back easily without any sort of inconvenience to them. He  said that the district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has already made  elaborate arrangements for the smooth boarding of the migrants for the train.
