COVID19: DC holds meeting with Civil Society members

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Monday held a meeting with the Municipal Council Rajouri, Block Development Council Chairpersons, President Beopar Mandal, civil society members, religious and political leaders to seek their cooperation for strengthening the efforts of the district administration to contain the spread of Corona Virus infection in the district.The meeting was attended by Former Vice Chairman of Pahari Advisory Board, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Administrator Aquaf Islamia Abdul Qayoom Dar, President Municipal Council Rajouri, Mohammad Arif, Council's Vice President Bharat Bushan Gupta, Beopar Mandal President Rajesh Gupta, Vice President Tahir Lone, BDC Chairmen including Darbar Chowdhary,  Khaliq Firdosh and civil society members including. Subash Chander, Sain Abdul Rashid, Bharat Bushan, Shafqat Mir, Nirman Singh, Manzoor Malik, Ashish Langer, Sajad Tariq, Khurshid Mir, Tazeem Dar, Pushpinder Gupta Umar Arshed and others.Besides the officers of the district administration including Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh and Tehsildar Rajouri, Sheraz Chowhan was also present on the occasion.Civil society members applauded the steps taken by the district administration to check the spread of Corona Virus infection in the district and assured full support in these tough circumstances.They also demanded for the opening of the business establishments other than Karyana shops on alternate days.They said that the labourers of the rural areas should be allowed to perform local construction works.

While speaking during the meeting the Deputy Commissioner said that although the district Rajouri is presently in orange zone and all the four positive COVID19 patients have recovered but still we need to be extra cautious.He said that district administration Rajouri has taken a slew of measures to contain the spread of Corona Virus infection in the district and all possible efforts are made to ensure that the essential services are provided to the general public at their doorsteps to mitigate their sufferings and to ensure their convenience in these hours of CoronaVirus crises.The Deputy Commissioner gave a detailed account of the steps being taken by the district administration Rajouri in the direction of preventing the spread of the CoronaVirus infection in the district.He further informed that an order was issued for closure of all the market/business establishments except the essential services in the district.He said that the road map for sending the stranded labourers back to their respective areas stands formulated and they shall be allowed to go their areas shortly. He also said that the shops of rural areas are fully open and there is no restriction on carrying out the developmental activities in blocks.The Deputy Commissioner urged upon the civil society members to cooperate with the district administration in supplementing its efforts to fight against the Novel Corona Virus as the district administration alone is not in a state to fight with this deadly virus.He also asked them to aware the public about the cause of spread of the virus and the measures which can be adopted to prevent it from being spread. He also impressed upon the general public to follow the SOPs norms so that the district is saved from this deadly virus.
