47 migrants leave for home-state Jharkhand from Mansa

As many as 47 migrants left for their native state Jharkhand from Nehru Memorial Government College in Mansa on Sunday. The migrants, who were ferried to Bathinda on two PRTC buses from Mansa, will board the train to Jharkhand from Railway Station Bathinda.Assistant Commissioner Navdeep Kumar said that following the directions from the Deputy Commissioner Mansa Gurpal Singh Chahal the district administration has ensured the smooth running of buses, which departed with 47 migrants to Bathinda. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC Development) Gurmeet Singh Sidhu was also present on the occasion.Assistant Commissioner said that of total 47 migrants, 30 were stuck in Mansa sub-division while 17 were staying in Sardulgarh.The district administration had ensured medical screening of all the migrants before sending to their home states and all the migrants were provided refreshment by the officials.ADC-D Gurmeet Singh Sidhu said that the train was expected to depart from Bathinda Railway Station at around 5 pm on a Sunday evening.Meanwhile, Migrants had expressed their gratitude to the Punjab Government and the District Administration for sending them back to their homes.
