"Although residents of the tricity, the people can move to and fro Mohali on producing their official ID Cards but with a view to check that nobody enters the district from neighbouring Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, without proper authorization, in accordance with the orders of the District Magistrate Mr. Girish Dayalan, surprise checking was conducted at all the entry points into the district from all highways as well as the link roads alongside borders of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh."This was disclosed here today by the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, S. A. S. Nagar, Mr. Kamal Garg on the occasion of conducting surprise checks with the assistance of the police personnel at all the entry points. He also added that such surprise checks would continue in future also.It is important to mention here that for the people entering the district from Himachal Pradesh, inter State highway check point have been set up at siswan baddi road in village siswan. For those entering the District from Haryana,the interstate border check points on highways have been set up near Sekhon banquet hall, Zirakpur, Panchkula highway.Other interstate check points for those entering districts from Haryana have been set up at Ambala to Naraingarh highway and Ambala to Chandigarh highway Jharmari, Lalru. Similarly, interstateborder check points have been set up at various link roads at peer muchhalla, t-point antala, barwala road behra morh, ramgarh mubarakpur road, Daffarpur and Harmilap Nagar, Baltana.
