 Health Minister Punjab Balbir Singh Sidhu today asked the Health department to further expedite the sampling process in the district for winning the war against Covid 19 pandemic.Chairing a meeting here at the District Administrative Complex to review the situation in district, the Minister, accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, MLAs Mr. Rajinder Beri, Chaudhary Surinder Singh and Mr. Avtar Singh Bawa Henry, said that efforts must be further intensified for checking the pandemic. He said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was leaving no stone unturned to save the people from scourge of Corona Virus. Mr. Sidhu said that at the grass root level the frontline soldiers were also performing their duty well.The Minister said that testing of the samples was a major challenge for the state government, which would be overcome soon. Mr. Sidhu said that in Jalandhar too, the state government was mulling to either set up or tie up for state of the art laboratory to ensure earlier report of the sampling.He said that under the able and decisive leadership of the Chief Minister there was no dearth of funds with the state government to deal with this pandemic.  

Appreciating the hard work being put by the district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma , Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Navjot Singh Mahal, the Minister said that team Jalandhar was performing very well to combat the corona virus. He said that these efforts must continue till the Corona Virus was not eradicated completely from Jalandhar. Mr. Sidhu assured fulsome support and cooperation from the state government to the district administration for this noble cause.Meanwhile during the meeting the Minister was informed that 4511 SWAB tests have been so far conducted in the district out of which 137 have been found positive whereas 3114 people have been found negative. He was also informed that the door to door survey in 10703 houses was conducted during which screening of 47465 people was done. Mr. Sidhu was also informed that a total of 7673 people were quarantined so far out of which 6624 people have successfully completed their quarantine period whereas the period of 1049 people was still active.On the occasion Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, MLAs Mr. Rajinder Beri, Chaudhary Surinder Singh and Mr. Avtar Singh Bawa Henry, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Vice Chairman Punjab Health System Corporation Mr. Bobby Sehgal, Chief Executive Officer Smart City Dr. Shena Aggarwal, Additional Deputy Commissioners Mr. Vishesh Sarangal and Mr. Jasbir Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinder Chawla, Medical Superintendent Dr. Harinder Singh, Epidemiologist Dr. Shobna and others were also present.
