Alok Shekhar Holds Meeting With District Administration To Review Situation In Wake Of Corona Virus

Principal Secretary General Administration Alok Shekhar today said that he would flag the matter of allotting additional manpower to district for combating Covid 19 before the state government.The Principal Secretary, who was here in the city to review the situation in wake of the Corona Virus along with Managing Director PUNSUP Mr. Rambir, said that district administration has been making strenuous efforts to combat with the pandemic, which was highly appreciable. Acceding to the demand made by the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Mr. Shekhar said that he would raise up the matter of allotting more manpower specially of health and Police department to the district. He said that it was need of the hour to combat Corona Virus more efficaciously.The Principal Secretary also said that he would also raise the issue of notifying Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) as a full fledged Isolation Centre. He assured the district administration that there was no dearth of resources and manpower with the state government to tackle with this pandemic. Expressing satisfaction over efforts being made by district administration, Mr. Shekhar assured fulsome support and cooperation to the district administration by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in this war against Corona. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner apprised the Principal Secretary about the initiatives being taken by the district administration to combat the Corona Virus effectively.  He said that around 20 containments zones have been made in Jalandhar where around 150 teams were daily conducting the surveys. Mr. Sharma said that adequate number of quarantine centres and Covid care facilities have been created in the district to deal with any sort of urgencyThe Deputy Commissioner said that quality treatment was being provided to the patients admitted in the local Civil Hospital. He said that these patients were given nutritious food besides taking care of their personal needs.
