Annual Action Plan for Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission approved

Annual plan of Rs. 1700 crore Jal Jeevan Mission and Rs. 246 crore Swachh Bharat Mission was approved here today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anil Khachi.Chief Secretary directed to ensure the quality of various works being done under the Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission and necessary steps should be taken in time to reduce the cost of all works. He said that special priority should be given to the preparation of Gravity Water Projects.Additional Chief Secretary, Forest Ram Subhag Singh said that the Forest Department will work with the Jal Shakti Department to prepare special structures for water conservation in the hilly areas and water will be provided for irrigation of the fields in the villages. This will save the expenditure for lift drinking water schemes.Directions were also given in the meeting to use the IT based application in all tasks.It was also directed to prepare a state level control system through which the data of water pumping done by the drinking water schemes of the state can be monitored through the dashboard.In the meeting decision was taken to set up sewerage treatment plants in rural areas with high population, ensuring use of technology.Additional Chief Secretary Social Justice and Empowerment Nisha Singh, Secretary Urban Development Rajneesh, Secretary Jal Shakti and Rural Development Dr. R.N. Batta and ENC Jal Shakti Department Naveen Puri were also present in the meeting.
