330 Civil Defense Wardens To Keep Vigil On Home Quarantined People

In order to ensure the strict compliance of all protocols by home quarantined people in the district to combat Covid-19 pandemic, the Jalandhar administration has decided to deploy 330 civil defence wardens in the city to keep a vigil on home quarantined people.Chairing a meeting of officials in the district administrative complex, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that there is around 330 civil defence warden in the city and they would be roped in for assisting the Police and health teams in ensuring the people who have been quarantined at their homes, remain inside their homes and do not flout the protocol. They said that these wardens who are already specialized in working in the war- like situations would exclusively be deployed in the containment zones and areas where the people have been quarantined at their homes. They said that they would monitor the activities in the areas and would inform the local police if anyone who is under home quarantine, float the protocol and comes outside his or her home. 

 They said that the violators of the home quarantined would be dealt with an iron hand and would be booked in stringent sections of laws.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that these would be pressed into service from Monday in these areas to assist the police and health teams who are on duty 24X7 since the curfew has been imposed.Both the officers said that the district Police and civil administration was leaving stone unturned for ensuring that the curfew was imposed effectively to fight COVID 19 pandemic.Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said these civil defence wardens have once again an opportunity to serve their motherland in this hour of crisis.  Both the officers said that this was the need of the hour to ensure that the spread of Corona Virus was checked in the district.On the occasion, Smart City CEO Dr Shena Aggarwal, ADC (D) Mr Vishesh Sarangal, DCP Mr Arun Saini, SP Mr RPS Sandhu, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Gurmeet Kaur Duggal, District Dental Health Officer Dr Satinder Puar, Dr Harish,  Mr Sohan Singh and others were present.
