Bandaru Dattatraya reviews the status of COVID-19 in H.P.

Governor Bandaru Dattatraya today held a high powered review meeting in the presence of the Chief Secretary Anil Khachi regarding the status of essential services concerning various departments in the wake of COVID-19 in the State. He was apprised with the necessary steps taken by the state government to deal with the situation arised due to COVID-19.On this occasion, the Governor said that in the current situation, the role of primary health centers was important and it was important to make these even more active regarding investigation and care. He said that PPE kits and other necessary facilities should be ensured for the safety of medical and  para-medical staff. He expressed satisfaction that most of the test reports of COVID-19 suspects in the State were negative. Still, there was a need to increase testing centers in the state, he added.The Governor asked to ensure that the farmers get best price of their produce as the harvesting season has started. He said that the packaging material and transportation facilities should also be properly managed, in which marketing committees could play an important role.

The Governor was informed that IGMC, Shimla, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Government Medical College, Tanda and Medical College Nerchowk have been made eOPD hubs, through which any person can seek medical consultation through e-Sanjeevani portal. In the meeting, it was also apprised that telemedicine facility has also been started in 500 sub-health centers and primary health centers in the state, where provision of expert consultation has been made.Chief Secretary and other senior officials apprised the Governor of various steps taken from time to time in the wake of COVID-19.Additional Chief Secretary Health R.D. Dhiman, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu, Principal Secretary, Finance Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary, Agriculture Onkar Sharma, Secretary, Food, and Civil Supplies Amitabh Awasthi, Secretary to Governor Rakesh Kanwar, Special Secretary, Disaster Management D.C. Rana and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
